I just upgraded from windows 98 SE to windows 2000 Pro.

My 2nd Hard drive, drive letter D:\ now changed to drive letter I:\ and my CD recorder which was drive letter I:\ now is drive letter D:\

This is screwing up my computer, I have tried to uninstall these devices but they keep showing up with the wrong drive letters everytime I restart my computer.

Thanks.

rt click "my Computer"-properties-device manager-cd rom-rt click-properties..it should be there with a tab to assign drive letter.......just did it after installing a burner and a clean install.

ultravox, windows 2000 does not have that option. I knew that option existed in windows 98, but sadly it does not appear in windows 2000, at least I haven't seen it.

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Administrative Tools
3. Computer Management
4. Storage\Disk Management
5. Right-Click on the drive and select "Change Drive Letter and Path"
6. Click "Edit"

Change away.

Faster Method

1. Right Click on My Computer
2. Click on Manage
3. Continue with step 4 above
