Changing Directory for Profile in XP

I need help changing the directory name for a profile. When I rename a profile, the directory for that profile in Documents and Settings stays the same. Is there an easy way to change the directory name and have all the settings in the profile recognize that folder as the new profile, rather than looking for files in the old name?

In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList find your user in the list and look for a value called "ProfilesDirectory".

Permissions can be a pain if the directory you change to belongs to a different user.

BTW: I've even done this between 64-bit Windows and 32-bit. When I boot up 64-bit Windows my user uses the same profile... (so I get an identical start menu, desktop, the works)
