The text editor I use is almost always metapad.exe. It's fancier than notepad and was developed as a notepad replacement.
I have it in my taskbar, and have set the start in folder to be my favored file save location. However, I find that it often chooses to offer a different folder when I go to save a new text file. This, even if the last saved file was saved to my favored text file save location. Thus, I have to type it in instead of the one offered. What am I missing? Something, for sure...
