Changing CPU

Will my windows 7 still work well if I change the CPU ?
I plan to change i3 2120 into a i5 2500k.
Also, if I'd change the motherboard, I'd HAVE to re install windows, correct?

The only problem i ran across was going form a dual core to a quad core in xp.i had to go into msconfig advanced boot options and change it from 2 to 4 cores

Don't forget you will be required to re-activate windows.

And even that isn't much of a big deal these days. Just went through reactivating my OS twice in a week without problem.....two video card changes that triggered it and then a motherboard change that triggered it again.

Both times, did the call in and was reactivated in under a minute or two. Never even had to speak to a human....all automated.
