I did a print screen here to show my point-make sure you use adblock plus.

the right window (FF browser) is active. the left (a folder) is the non active.
I want to change the highlighted item color (circled in the picture) from the light grey to something darker. its annoying its so light that I can hardly see it. yes, I can go back and make the window active but its not efficient for me as my sight isnt the greatest.

I want to change the light grey to a different when its not the active window..possible?
thank you

So, the way I understand this, you don't want to change the Inactive Window, you want to change the color of the selected item in an inactive window.

In Windows 7:
-Right-click the desktop, select Personalize
-Select Windows Color
-Select Advanced Appearance Settings
-Scroll down to Select Items from the Item menu.

This will change the inactive and active color, but you should be able to find something that stands out more when it is inactive.
