Changing City Street Name?

I'm not going to get into why people don't use GPS to find out where they're going before heading out the door, but our customers have a tendency to go to the wrong city all the time because our business is located on a street with the same name as the wrong city. In addition, there's another blvd with that same name in the wrong city.

Now, is there a way to petition a city to change the name of one of its streets so people don't go to the wrong city all the time?

I'm sure people in the other city feel the same way about your street.

The same with their North side of a street and South side of a street. People just need to know the general area of where they're going first before they leave.

Get every on the street to sign a petition to change the name.

Submit the request with recommended name in the next council meeting

Until then educate your customers on the location of the business. Ensure the know the proper city.

I used to live on 93rd place. UPS and Fedex would often drop my packages off at a bank with the same address on 93rd Street, which happened to be across town. It was incredibly annoying.

I always thought it would be cool to name your street Street.

There is a Street Road north of Philly starting at I95 and heads W for about 20 miles. Decent traffic and main drag.

We stress this highly when we confirm appt. with our customers, but they don't listen. They think they're the shit, then bitch about how we don't tell them the direction when they end up across town. FML! Use your GPS OMG!

Have a bunch of different ones all in the same area:

Street ave.
Avenue Blvd.
Boulevard ave.

Would really screw with people. :D

Here there was lot of duplicate street names at one point. Basically one section of town could have a street with the same name as another one in another section of town. They fixed all that because it caused confusion for 911. D:

I recall duplicate street names being a problem when I was in Los Angeles (this was before google maps was a thing). You're trying to find a certain street and the LA map has 5 of them in different places.

Uhm I've never heard of this problem but we also have streets named after cities. Usually it's cities far away though.

Duplicate street names within the same municipality usually don't exist, but there are annoying things like the street changing name in the middle and stuff like that.

I can understand going to the wrong part of a city but how the hell do you go to the wrong city?

Never underestimate how stupid the average person is. That said, I could totally see this happening if we're talking about common street names (Main St., 1st Avenue, etc.).

When you try to get the city to change it, make sure you tell them there's an environmental impact because people are driving all around town needlessly. ;)

I swear this is why I have had so many packages lost in the last three years.

I live at 1234 4th St but there is also a 1234 E 4th St.

Its the same damn street, you can go from one to the other but they decided to start renumbering so they go down and then back up. Its completely retarded.
