changing chipset fan with heatsink

the only problem is getting the heatsink to be stuck hard against it, where as the cpu sockets have clamps, the north-bridge (chipset) dosnt have a clamp, so it might not transfer heat as well as it should, therefore overheating. If u can get a cheap on off ebay and try it for 5mins while monitoring the temp,a nd its at a good temp, then it will.
I think u should go for a larger (lower RPM - quieter) fan and heatsink, or water cooling, but the first is cheaper and easier :p

Actually, some of them have push pin holes and others use a hooking mechanism. It will depend on your motherboard.
It is usually better to use a third party cooler rather than the stock NB cooler.
