Can i just go buy one and pop it in myself or is there something else to think about?
Seems like an easy job... must replace or is it worth it to just recharge the battery?

acura integra 97 4door.

'cool thanks...i was driving constantly for 2hrs with cd stereo and subs thumping and later in the night realized lights were weak. After a couple minutes of stereo with engine off, car would not start...its like a 3-5yr old battery.

are all batteries more or less created equal nowadays? '

Update:
i think battery is fine, maybe...coz i cleaned up the top and there was an indicator on the battery and it says 'distilled water'. It did not indicate that a new battery was needed(different color). So i'm gonna add some distilled water and see how it goes.

Do batteries need to be topped with distilled water once a while or what? I thought they're supposed to be maintenance free...if this is a sign of future probs with it then i'll just change it already.

anyone know?

Super easy, assuming your battery isn't in a hard to get to place. Most of the time it's really easy to get to, since it is something that isn't going to last forever. Should be able to change it out in about 5 minutes, I would think.

Easy for most cars/trucks. Some are very hard though.

Autozone, advance, etc... install for free

What year make and model?

Yeah... most of the time it's easy, but it really does depend on the type of car... In my car, it's a PITA because you have to remove a support brace, then move something out of the way... can't remember if it was an air hose or a wiring harness... I've not seen a lot of cars like that, though.

Just don't bridge the two contacts with anything.

You need to check your charging system first if the lights were weak while driving.
Jump the car and see what voltage you have at the battery. Should be high 13 to low 14's. If it is low 13's or lowwer, then you may have a bad charging system.

But installing a battery in a acura integra 97 is not that hard a all if that is what it is.

Very easy, just make sure you test the battery to see if you got a fresh one not one that has been sitting on the shelves for long. Best way is to lay a wrench down over the terminals. It will be clear if you got a good one.
