Changing background color in Outlook Express

Is there any way to get rid of the white background of the file list and message lists and message views. The white just kills my eyes and I would love to replace it with gray, just as in most programs like Word or Excel or anything where you are entering text( like when writing this post for instance) the text it black on a white background, is there any place where I can change this? Registry edit maybe? Or tweaking tool? If anyone can show me a way to do this I would be very happy.

You can change the "global" Windows color scheme by going to Display Properties -> Desktop -> Appearance -> Advanced. Change the "Window" color to whatever you want.
