American Scientists have discovered a process in which to transform millions of tons of waste into burnable oil.

Any kind of waste would work, including tires, plastic bottles, harbor-dredged muck, old computers, municipal garbage, cornstalks, paper-pulp effluent, infectious medical waste, oil-refinery residues, even biological weapons such as anthrax spores.

Hell! Bush didnt even need to invade Iraq! ;)

Edit: before people think i was serious about the last comment, i'm not.

Patent and horde the technology, slowly move the US infrastructure and economy to rely on this new fuel source. We can CHARGE the EU to take their garbage so they can afford a little real Oil.....

"even biological weapons such as anthrax spores"

WMD into Oil? Now why did you have to bring THAT variable into the mix???????? :Q

I am still hoping this is real, but it just sounds too good to be true.

so you are saying you were not serious when you said Bush did not need to invade Iraq?

So, seriously speaking, you are saying he needed to, thanks for the clarification, I agree ;)

One of the best things to come out of this is that we could pull out of the Middle East altogether, and leave the ANWR alone....

The less we have to deal with the Saudis and other Muslim controlled oil countries, the better....

"I hate to break the news to all you aspiring e-pimps out there, but the majority of sexy women who use the internet are actually sweaty 50-year-old men who have had a run-in with the police after attempting to molest a mailbox."

That mailbox was begging for it, sitting there on the street like some whore, just opening her mouth everyday and letting random mailmen shove their things inside her, fvcking tramp........

that qoute in his sig prompted my outburst....

Did ya hear LiL, they can turn WMD into oil, maybe Bush can show us some oil and go see, it's buried everywhere here, more than we thought.

Patent and withold the technology that could supply everyone with cheap power! How generous! I guess you're being sarcastic - either that or your upset that the middle-east happens to hold so much oil.

Cheers ;)

about temperatures of 500 degrees Fahrenheit and pressures of about 600 pounds for most organic material?not at all extreme or energy intensive

sounds like you could do this with an overclocked rice cooker... a bit simplistic but the real deal is can they get more energy out than the put in

If that were completely true - I'd be very impressed! ;)

Getting more energy out than you put in is impossible.....The energy is just transformed to an easier to harness medium.

The US is not very dependent on ME oil anymore. I would gladly see it exported for sale, already processed and ready to go, if we can beat oil prices, even better. I just think we should primarily enjoy the majority of the financil benefits, and protect the technology against foreign reproduction. Most cities have garbage removal and local power stations, combine the two. Build self sustaining systems and a reserve, then sell any extra production available.

We might not buy our oil from the ME, but if the ME cut production by a significant portion, you can bet we would be seeing the results at the gas pump. Just because we dont buy much from there doesnt mean we arent dependent on them keeping the oil flowing

My arguement was just that we could maybe solve the third world energy crisis with that technology (and they don't have any money going spare).

Do you remember cold fusion?

This process is actually up and running in a pilot scale facility. The first full sized facility should be on-line within the next few weeks or months. That being said, I don't know anything about the energetics of the process, but seperations like this tend not to be energetically favorable. However, if they say they can produce oil at $15 per barrel from turkey guts, and Con-Agra foods funded a facility to process the waste, I would tend to believe their claims. Con-Agra wouldn't have funded the project without having their own set of engineers look the process over to make sure it was viable.
