Changing a GPU fan

Just installed my new Athlon XP 2100+ Tbred with SK-7+Panaflo L1A HSF. Nice and quiet!! Only trouble is, now I hear the whine from my GF4 4200 fan...

Is it possible to replace or quiet this fan? I have a Gainward 64MB model. Are there quieter or less whiny fans for GPU out there? How easy or difficult is it to remove the old fan from the card? I'd consider one of those Zalman fanless heatsinks, if the price is right...

If your gpu fan is epoxied on , it may be removed (but do so at your own risk). It will also void your warranty.
Take a small piece of cardboard or a business card folded over or some such thing, and place it against the board, against the gpu (under the heatsink as far as it will go.) Then take a wide flathead screwdrvier, and place it between the heatsink and guard you have on the pcb, and slowly rotate the screwdriver, so it presses against the card and the heatsink. It should pop off with out too much effort. Be prepared to go at the residual epoxy for about an hour with some alcohol
When I did this I froze my card in an antistatic bag first.
