Changed video card in dell xps m1710

My 7900GTX in my POS Dell XPS m1710 died and I was out of warranty. I purchased a refurb'd 7900GS and installed it in the notebook. Now presentation mode won't work. I run the video out to a 24" LCD and do all of my gaming on there.

I checked Dell Quickset and made sure presentation mode is turned on. I always try running the video through both a DVI, and VGA cable, no worky.

Both of my other laptops output to the monitor without a problem. When i run the dell it just says "no signal"

Using 88.63 Driver for 7900 GS 256mb.


Any suggestions?

What are you using to turn on and adjust the external monitor? It sounds like you're using some Dell utility, try using Windows itself - on the display properties turn on the second monitor and adjust resolution as necessary.

Why use a Dell brand utility for something that Windows can do on its own?
