Changed the cooler....

So, I had this Thermalright Ultra 90 with 2X92 mm fans spinning at around 1600 rpm in full load. My chip used to hit 86 C with Linpack test, temperature recorded with Real Temp ( 100 C T junction).

So, I said this would be a good time to change the cooler, so I bought the Xigmatek S1283 Red Scorpion + a bolt thru kit to avoid the stupid push pins. But I was amazed when I saw that I have the same stupid 86 C. Ambient temperature was at 26 C for both coolers.

Could it be because of the girly 1500 rpm 120mm fan that the Xigmatek came with? Should I add another 1500 rpm fan for a push and pull configuration? I just don't understand how on earth the second best air cooler out there gives the same temperatures of an old cheap and EOL cooler.

its possible you are just getting inacurate temps from the cpu monitor you are using. whats your core read with the latest version of coretemp in relation to what it is reading in bios.

I never looked in bios because I know it's inaccurate. I use only Real Temp, Core Temp and SpeedFan, since they all have the same T junction value, giving me the same temperature readings.
