Changed setting in BIOS and now computer won't even POST

Last night I noticed on my new computer (Gigabyte P965-S3 Motherboard) that I could not change the RPM for my E6400's stock HSF, stuck at 1000 RPM (auto). I go into the BIOS and change the Fan Speed Control Method from "Auto" to "Disabled" which would supposedly run the fan at full speed at all times. Now my computer won't even POST, it starts up, all fans going and everything then shuts off right before any beep codes are made. I attempted clearing the CMOS to see if that would help, but the problem still persists...

Any help would be appreciated.

Try to clear the CMOS again. Very slowly. What I do is:

1) unplug the power cable
2) switch the jumper...check to make sure you have the right one...
3) hold in the power button for 50 seconds (overkill, but just do it anyway)
4) remover any USB, serial, Firewire, parallel, ps/2 cables from the system, except the keyboard cable...

then try to boot.

If that doesn't work, take all the RAM out and try to boot....then place only one stick in the system (on my system if I have one stick it has to go in the 3rd slot from the CPU).

if all else fails try tech support.

good luck.

Hey thanks bro, looks like holding that power switch in for 50 seconds did the job when clearing my CMOS. I did everything but that when I first tried it. My computer booted up and looks like my CPU HSF is going full speed :)
