So a while ago I told firefox not to save passwords for certain sites. I've changed my mind and I now want to save passwords for these sites.

I've looked everywhere [that I can see] in the settings and I have no idea how to get firefox to offer to save passwords again for the specific sites I told not to.

I'm all so using Secure login 0.9.3 and firefox 3.0.4

If anyone can recomend a better/safer password application please let me know.

Thanks in advance, you wonderful people you.

Well in 3.0.3, you go to tools > Options > The security Tab > in the middle of the window is a check box that says "Remember passwords for sites", check it and click ok. I'm not running Secure login, but I assume it would be the same on your end.

I've uninstalled Secure Login for the time being.

It's already checked, and the "exceptions" list is already empty.....

I deleted all saved passwords and it seems to have solved it. I didn't do this in the first place because I'm not sure which passwords go with which site. Ahh well, it'll be sorted in an hour or so.

I've taken a different path, I've downloaded AI roboform and disabled passwords in firefox.

So I didn't like roboform and I'm trying to go back to secure login.

I've re-enabled passwords in options - security tab - passwords but firefox won't offer to save passwords for any site.

Help please. Thanks in advance.

EDIT:

I ended up backing up all the firefox files and reinstalling [deleting setting files] firefox. That sort of sorted it.

It seems theres a well known error in firefox, some pages won't save passwords, but it seems there is a [awkward] solution with secure login [linked above].

Why doesn't Firefox Password Manager ask me to save passwords for some websites?

First make sure Firefox Password Manager is enabled.

Some websites prevent Firefox Password Manager to save passwords by adding the attribute autocomplete="off" to the login form and/or the login form fields. Unfortunately there is no preference in Firefox to disable this behavior. 1
Removing the autocomplete="off" attributes will allow you to save passwords nonetheless.
You can use a so-called Bookmarklet to achieve this:

* Visit the following website: Remember Password Bookmarklet.
* CLick with the right mouse button on the "remember password" button/link and select ""Boommark this link" from the context menu to add it to your bookmarks.
* Go to the login page that prevents you to save passwords.
* Make sure JavaScript is enabled for the current page, else the bookmarklet won't work (it is written in JavaScript).
* Click on the new "remember passwords" bookmark that you just added.
* A dialog should appear, telling you that autocomplete="off" has been removed from the login form.
* Input your username and password and submit the form - Firefox Password Manager should now be able to remember your password.

The next time you visit this login page you should be able to login with Secure Login.
