I jumped on that Outpost.com deal...Shuttle AN35N Ultra & XP2700+ for $99 last week.
I followed instructions on swapping mobo & cpu while saving XP Pro install & data. I booted w/ XP disk and did a Repair, then reinstalled SP1 & updates.
Everything went well & PC appears to be OK...except:
In the Device Manager my two DVD drives (Aopen Combo COM5232 & NEC ND-1300A DVD+/- RW) are now listed as "CD/DVD" drives, not as their names like before w/ previous mobo. Nero ID's the drives correctly, but not Windows
How do I get their names back?
Also...
The NEC burns OK using DVD X Copy Xpress, but using Nero 6 I've wasted two DVD-R's half way thru burning..."reset occurred" error.
