Good luck in your pursuit and BIOS flash. I hope it works. If not, you are probably on the right track in waiting for the new nForce2 board. From what I hear it will be pretty nice.
As to "BTW, my surge protector is a Belkin 2300 jewel with phone line protection. I should have mentioned that but it did not cross my mind at the time.", I would just respectively remind you that (unless the Belkin 2300 jewel is a UPS), an Uninterruptible Power Supply is the best way to deal with both under and over voltage protection.

I see your point and I probably should get a good UPS to keep the voltages leval. What do you recommend as a good inexpensive UPS, given that I have good Surge protection to put upstream of it?

Update on my board: It is now, periodically, giving the Blue Screen with the memory dump message at 140fsb. I am setting everything back to stock, and I have the memory case latency set to 2.5 and may need to relax the other memory settings as well.

Boy I hope the NForce2 comes out soon, I may not be able to wait much longer.

Staples has (or usually does) and APC 350va UPS unit for under $40. Nothing fancy and won't run your system long in case of an outage but you are not really getting it for that. I have two of these (on my system and my wifes). We have 19" and 17" monitors. It will run ours for ~4 minutes in a power outage. Plenty of time to shut down and it also came with software to do the shutdown automatically. On the plus side, it also smooths out the crappy power we have in our older home. :D
I agree, maybe you should set things back to "normal" for now. Just set the memory timings at "SPD" for now. nForce2 should be out pretty soon. I did see one "preview" of them already. I'm betting late November; got to get it out for Xmas you know! ;)

UPDATE EDIT!!I was wrong about the nforce2 boards being out in late NOV. It seems they are already here.

Yes I noticed that EPOX has a big add on there home page here, and two boards listed here.

The EP-8RGA+ seems to be the onboard video version, while the EP-8RDA+ seems to be the non video version.

I have not been able to find them for sale yet though.
