Change where cookies are located?

Does anyone know how to change the location of where cookies are stored on your computer. I have win2k and IE 5.5.

Thanks,

It's my understanding that Micro$oft is "working on" better cookie management options in upcoming editions of IE. Until then you are SOL, mon ami. Poke around in the Micro$oft Knowledge Base if you're really juiced about accomplishing this...

Change the location of your Temporary Internet Files folder (IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General -> Temporary Internet Files 0> Settings ... -> Move Folder -> ... -> Reboot).

I did that a long time ago (change the location of my temporary internet files), but some cookies (yea, some go in my temp internet files) are still being stored in the original place (Documents and Settings\user\cookie. Oh well, guess I gotta wait for a new version of IE (hopefully IE 6 has it)

Thanks,

As long as the directories exist, cookies will **appear to be stored** in directories like \Docs&Sets\User\Cookies. This is just MS's implementation of representing cookies as files. It's sorta like those directories that are actually "under" Temporary Internet Files, but you never see them (access them from DOS and you'll see what I mean. There are directories there.)
