Change the background of Office XP?

I can't stand looking at the huge white background of Office XP when I am typing. Can I change it to a grey color and maybe have the text wrtting in white..........but when I print it out, it will be normal?

you can have a blue background with white text a-la DOS Edit or old DOS word processing apps.

Tools -> Options -> General Tab -> Check "Blue background, white text" box

is that easier on the eyes?
