Currently, I have turned off Shockwave Flash Object because every time i try to view an article they drive me nuts with all the flashing/animation.

Start --> Control Panel --> Internet Properties --> Programs tab --> Manage Add-ons button --> Disable Shockwave Flash Object
( you can turn it on or off as you need to now )

If vendors think that by creating ads that flash/animate will get us to look at them, they need to think again. We are here to read the articles not lose our minds on things we, not at that moment, want to see. Putting up distracting ads will only make us look away, stop or prevent them from showing all together, as I have.

If they made it to where a hover over by the mouse arrow would then show us an animation the size of the box then I would be a lot more intrested in seeing them and actually be more curious about them. AD MAKERS, we want to see them but not as flashing animated objects that make it difficult to read our articles. Some of them are actually things we will be buying for our next upgrade therefore helpful to us.

So PLEASE stop with the dang distracting flashing animations!!!

Anandtech, if you have a choice on ads pick ones that do not have flashes or animation because they are making us hate trying to read your topics.

Forward this to your ad subscriber and maybe they will get an idea....

Adblock Plus and/or Flashblock

same. For a long time I refused to install flash simply because the ads on sites were so obnoxious. Now I have adblock plus and it's been smooth sailing. Viewing ATT's home page without adblock is like looking at a whole different site; so much motion.
