Change resolution size on RH 9

I was able to run at 1024x748 with this monitor and PC, but RH is being an a$$.
I changed it in the XF86Config file itself and restarted the PC, but it keeps defaulting to 800x600.
I'm currently running an 8MB card that's capable of doing that resolution.
And it is running 24bit

Your XF86Config file offers a list of resolutions you allow the X server to use... try removing everything but 1024x768 from the list to force X to use it. Granted, X may refuse to start entirely, but couldn't hurt to try.
