Change PM subscribed-thread notification format?

I don't like cluttering my Inbox with dozens of emails notifying me of contributions to various threads to which I have subscribed, so instead I am notified by private message.

The problem is, the format is rather suboptimal from my perspective. There are frequently a dozen or two frazzled looking "ForumNotifier" heads, each allowing me to a specific contribution to a specific forum, but not telling me which forum the contribution is for until I click on it, wait for the next page to materialize, click Done, the go back to the rest of the messages. I have to do this to every little ForumNotifier blurb or just hit the "Clear All" button and be done with it.

Each ForumNotifier blurb should immediately identify the thread to which it refers and there should be a way to kick up that thread without going to a deeper level, clicking again, and then coming back out again. And there should be a way to dismiss all the ForumNotifier blurbs for a single thread with one or two clicks. When I go to the subscribed thread I'll naturally read all subsequent comments. I don't need a seperate PM for each individual contribution. I want to know which THREADS have recent contributions and then have an easy way of accessing those threads with the minumum of screwing around on the PM page.

I also like the notion of allowing members to receive only 1 email a day notifying the users which subscribed threads have a given number of recent contributions and allowing the user to link to those individual threads from the email.

I really like that idea also.
