Looking at getting the COOLER MASTER HAF 912 Killer price at $40.

ASRock Z77 Extreme6 to be housed in this.

Anyone had any luck with changing out the usb 2.0 front with USB 3.0?

Wouldn't it be easier to use the USB 3.0/SSD mount that is included with the motherboard. Just gotta pop it into the 3.5" bay.

I'd prefer the 3.0 ports on top to be able to set an external drive on top of the case.

If it's easily do-able, I'll take the time, if not just go with it as is.

Maybe........... route two of the rear 3.0 ports up top?

A little wire, a little solder, a little rum and BAM!

Blue goodness on top.

You'd have to look at it once you get the case. If not doable you should be able to use the upper drive bay with the adapter and front cover anyways I'd think.

There is a recent post about poor Front usb3 speeds and related problems.
There is no locking tab on the mb front usb3 connector.
I need to find my hot glue gun to fix that problem.
Many posts state that size and lenght of cable are the problem.
I did notice a delay with a small wd usb2 hd when used on a halfx front usb3 with a z77 ext4 mb.
I would not use the front for large bkup etc until I ran some transfer speed benches

That one looks similar to the one I used. The only thing that was securing the USB headers to the base was two small philip head screws. I used a small jewelers head screwdriver to pry off the plastic cover and went to work.
