I have a question for system builders.

I building a new computer and going to go for 1900XTX but I would like to keep my option open for Crossfire. My problem is that I would like to use RD580 the new chip that is coming out in february. The thing is I would like to build my computer this week.

I am planning on buying a temporary motherboard in Retail and then return it after a month and buy the motherboard I would like to have.

Question: Can I just replace the motherboard or do I have to re-install everything?

Many times you can just replace the motherboard without reinstalling Windows, but IMO you should always reinstall from scratch. I have done both and in my experience there are fewer problems when installing from scratch.

If you do decide not to reinstall Windows, then you might want to try the following. Boot Windows in safe mode. Go to device manager and remove/uninstall everything. Then boot normally to let Windows begin discovering everything. Most of the time that works. One time I did have a problem ending up in a reinstall of Windows. Again though I recommend a reinstall any time you change the motherboard.
