Hey guys,

i have a pretty funny problem. I get major rise in temps when i put my new gpu nvidia 9800 gt it goes till 90!! and when i put my old radeon hd 4350 it stays at a 35-40...... How is that possible??

My comp specs.

Amd phenom ii x2 545 3ghz
Main board is msi 785gt-e63
DDR2 4gb ram
nvidia geforce 9800gt 1gb
my psu supplies 450
Am2 socket. Stock heatsink.
Nothing overclocked.

Things i have tried till now to solve the problem.

I refit my heatsink of the processer with a new thermal compound. just got it down 4-5*
Kept my case open no effect seen.
Removed it from the enclosed place and put in the open area still no effect.
Checked if all my fans are working and they are.
My psu aint spoilt.
My 9800gt has all its requirements.
My bios is upto date.
My drivers are upto date.
I got no viruses in my comp.

Any1 know whats happening?

are you talking about the cpu or the gpu going till that temp? are you having any issues other than this? you gave us a lot of parts info but nothing else to go on besides that. if the cpu is hitting 90c your system should thermal cycle (shut down and reboot, to prevent hardware damage) for example, but your gpu will generally handle that temperature just fine, though it is rather high in my opinion.
