change boot volume drive letter - is it possible?

Here is what happened. I put together a system with a raid 0 array that at the time included a spare disk attached to the onboard controller. After installing everything and removing the drive attached to the onboard controller I now have a d and e drive only (raid 0 partitioned). Is it possible to change the boot volume drive to c:? Are there any utility programs on the market that might conquer this task?

Please help,

Thanks in advance,

Fdisk then format

I am surprised the thing even boots since you took out the c drive. Since you will be changing the drive that contains the OS you will need to start again. If you are running 2000 it can be done but after reading the MS knoledgebase article it will be much simpler to start over. Even if you do the changes you will need to reinstall all of your apps.

The system works fine. It is an Athlon 1.4 with Windows XP and about 3 gigs of other programs that needless to say was just freshly installed. The problem I am having is a program will not give me the choice of file locations and I need to have a c: drive for it. I think I can change the e: drive and name it C: or just put the other drive back in. Does Partition magic do this? I know I can change the drive letters in the disk management utility built in to XP. But what about the boot drive?
