My p5n-e sli just bit the dust, i think, i have a evga 630i mobo, can i install it without having to reinstall vista? i've done this on xp many times but not sure about vista.

Thanks in advance

**EDIT**
Hi All,

Everything turned out ok. I was able to boot successfully without any need of re-installing vista. All I had to sit through was about 5-7 minutes of driver reinstallation which was automatically done by windows.

I assume this was no problem since it was nvidia to nvidia. I'm thinking going to intel would have been a massive nightmare.

Thanks all

You can try, there is nothing to lose.

If the Mobo basic drivers were released before the release of Vista(Nov. 2006) it probably would be OK.

Otherwise, it might boot but will need updated Drivers to get rid of the Ghosts, or would ask for the Vista DVD to repair the Boot.

i don't think reinstalling vista is required if you could successfully change motherboard drivers.

however, i've never tried that so i don't know if it's worth a risk.
