Ok, so I was meeting my GF at Buffalo Wild Wings the other night for one of her girlfriends birthdays. I get there and start walking to the door and her girlfriend pulls up with all her friends in the car and yell "Joshua!!!". Well as soon as they stop these two guys in a tahoe pull behind them and yell "Get the F out of the way!!!". So the girls go and as the two guys drive off I stare at the passanger as he says "Thank you!". Now my question is: Do you pop off and say "Shut the fvck up" and chance getting in a fight with a much larger guy or just let things go? I just let things go cause they were drunk I'm sure, but I just wanted to get some opinions.

And I know, I should of pulled a Jack Bauer, but I didn't.

Two of them. One of you.

Either way, it'd just be a stupid reason to start crap.

Well, let me share my own experiences from the Navy.

I was a nerd and a wimp and a loser before I joined (I know, assholes, not much has changed since, I get it, now be quiet).

I failed out of nuke school and got sent to deck department which is where most of the psychos and thugs ends up before getting a Bad Conduct or Dishonorable Discharge. It was also an all-male cruiser on the east coast which is about as bad as you can get.

Anyway, I used to get beat up on a regular basis and never did anything about it because I still valued my career and good standing and all that happy horse shiat. Well, eventually I got to the point where I thought my career was pointless as well as my life. Right around my 6 month mark I got tired and fvcked up a dude real good. I wont go into all the psychological factors or what was running through my head at the time, I suspect from the outside I probably looked like little Raphie in A Christmas Story.
Interestingly enough, after that nobody ever laid a hand on me. I know darn well nobody snitched because that would have opened up a whole barrel of monkeys and everyone (Chief included) would have been looking at a court martial.

My point is:
More often than not, people fvck with you because they think they can get away with it.
If its some asshole you bump into on the street and you never have to see him again then dont worry about it.
If its a coworker (or cell mate), you need to establish your position IMMEDIATELY or else it will make your life hell later on down the line.
Bullies dont get easier, they get worse, until they kill you or you kill them.

Now keep in mind psychos are different than bullies and need to be handled differently.
A bully runs and hides when you punch his nose.
A psycho tries to kill you when you've stabbed him in the gut.

Dealing with psychos is next weeks lesson.

Unless you are Chuck Zito you shouldn't. Even if you win (unlikely) you lose. Fighting as an adult is not even close to fighting as a kid or even a teenager. Plus you look like a complete moron in the eyes of everyone who witnesses it including your girl friends. Getting thrown in jail is the icing on the cake.

Remember, they are the ones who look like jerks, not you. You would have looked like a jerk if you had started something.

About 1 1/2 weeks ago, I was driving with my family and a light turned yellow. It was just a bit too far off to run it comfortably, so I stopped.
I didn't have to slam on brakes or panic stop, but it was a nice "slightly firmer than normal" stop. Didn't stand us on our heads or anything.

So we're already stopped, and like 3 seconds later some assgoblin was leaning on his horn behind us....and I mean RIGHT behind us....it was obvious that he hadn't been paying attention and he did have to panic stop to keep from hitting us.
Now keep in mind, nobody was following me closely before I stopped, so I know he simply was pissed because it probably scared him.

So he's blowing the horn, flipping us off, and mouthing all sorts of nice words. The light turns green, I take off normally, and as soon as I get in front of the car to the right, I start to move over so the jerk can go by. He goes by, again, flipping us off, cussing, etc, then cuts over in front of us, very close. Then boots it and goes on ahead.

The next light, about 1 mile away, he's turning right, we're in the left lane going straight. He's in a turn lane...turns right on red, immediately turns right into the gas station and stops parallel to us and waits until we look so he can flip us off again.

At that point, I've almost snapped. I started looking for a way to get 2 lanes over and go back to have a talk with him.

Then I look at my back seat....I have my 4 year old daughter, 2 year old son, and my wife in the front next to me.

Not worth it. At the end of the day, he's still a loser driving a complete piece of ****** old-ass Ranger, and is probably on his way to see his crack dealer, and we are not.

Had I been younger, I probably would have, but it's simply not worth it for an idiot. They'll still be idiots after you beat their ass. And you might end up in jail instead.

So I was headed to Buffalo Wild Wings and this car full of girls stops and blocks traffic outside the place just so that they can have a conversation with someone outside the car. They would be talking to this guy in a couple minutes after parking anyway, but somehow felt holding everyone else up so that they could shout crap was a good idea. We finally yelled at them to get out of the way and my friend thanked them once they did. Why don't people realize the world doesn't revolve around their convenience?
