I agree... the Food Network Challenge programs are not worth the air time they get.

I don't mind the "documentaries" on "real" cooking competitions (i.e. Pilsbury Bake Off, or the Chili Cook Off) though.

Alton Brown, and Diners and Dives are the two Food Network shows I watch regularly.

I'm interested in the new Food Detectives show... I hope it will be interesting at least.

Only thing I watch on Food Network is Good Eats and the occasional Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.

My wife likes watching the challenges, so I whole heartily support them, for this is when I get to go play Civ IV.

3D is IMO the best show on there, so much good food, so little time to eat it all

I didn't like it at first, but it's not bad. I'm a pretty big fan of Good Eats with Alton Brown. He adds a lot of science to the cooking...makes it interesting.

I love food, I love to eat it and cook it, but this show is stupid to me. They are getting really low on show ideas for this one.

My favorites are Alton Brown, Ina Garten (i get great inspriation from her) and Bobby Flay (because I  meat, and grilled/BBQ meat at that).

My all time favorite was the mini-series Feasting on Ashphalt and the follow up last summer. What great shows.
