my boss has this chair. it's strange because everything in his office is wood/mahogany. very 'elegant' and then there's this chair. it isn't that ugly, but it just doesn't match his office.

i've tried the chair out. if you like firm chairs, this is for you. it didn't feel as soft as it looked.

i've been following this chair too. great sale but still $100.. told myself i'd get it once it hit $100 again but having second thoughts now. for those who got it.. could it easily qualify as the best chair you've owned/sat on? lol

Picked up one a few months ago when it was the same price. My wife thought the looks were so so and I asked if she wanted one for her computer table. She commented it doesn't match but I told her to sit in it one time. Long story short she asked for one this christmas:)
Nicest chair outside of my 850$+ work chair.

Does it have adjustable arms? I need a chair that can move the arms up and down... I was thinking to get a Herman Miller Aeron chair but I can at least test this out today :)

Yes adjustable arms, up down and swivel. The seat has up/down and tilt. Many of the best buy's, at least in Santa Clara, now have a display model that you can check out before buying. This is something new as I had to purchase mine by opinion alone.
Don't get me wrong as I was in the same situation in thinking "100$ for a chair, my 30$ chair works fine" attitude. Well after 2 of these chairs are old chairs are now in the garbage:)

Yeah, the chair armrests adjust three ways. Up and down, backward and forward, and tilt inside and out.

The Aeron will be the best chair you ever buy. I have had one for 2 years now at home. It is by far the most comfortable chair you can get for computer work/use. Just make sure you get the fully adjustable version, and not the cheap fixed version. It will really pay off in the long run.

I'm considering getting this as I've had recent lower back problems. Any comments on lumbar support?

I prefer a firm chair, so this looks to be a good investment.

i have the aeron at work. i like it but don't see what the big deal is. perhaps having no complaints about it IS the big deal but for what it costs, i expected something more.. palpable.

Thanks for the post OP, I just got back from buying one.

Quick review:

As another post stated, the packaging is more than adequate.

Total setup took about 20 min from opening the box to me sitting here in it typing now.

Everything went together very easily, and all the parts are labeled well (i.e. "front", "right", "left")

Be careful are there are 2 types of screws, long and short.
The short ones are maybe 1/4'' shorter,
so just make sure you pick the correct ones when you install the mount to the bottom of the chair.

The chair appears to be very adjustable, although I haven't really messed around with all the different options.

The wheels are really nice, almost rollarblade like in smoothness. (might actually be rollarblade wheels)
Pretty easy to roll on carpet, although they might be a little too easy to roll on say a wood or concrete floor.
I am really impressed by the wheels as it seems on most chairs that all they have are crappy plastic wheels.
From the looks of it, these might actually have ball bearings, but I am not sure.

The chair has a nice curve and feels like it should offer good lower back support.
I'll write more on that after I have been sitting in it for awhile.

I'll add more stuff after I have sat in it for awhile and get a feel for it.

Lupi,

Just measured, with seat at max extension:

20 inches

from floor to the middle of the seat (roughly the level you'd be sitting at)

The wheels seem like they?d be a good thing for me. I notice my typical small plastic wheels are wearing the finish off the laminate flooring I have in the office. Our office is also above the guest bedroom and just rolling the chair a small amount sounds like a jumbo jet taking off from below.
