First here are my specs:
Athlon64 3000+
Chaintech ZNF3-250
2x 512mb Mushkin PC3200 DDR
Hercules 3d ProphetII MX (gforce2 mx 32 mb) ** waiting on replacement ATI Radeon 9800 Pro from newegg
Western Digital 37 gig 10000 RPM sata hd
We cannot get an OS on this system. I followed a long post on anandtech with regard to the similar board made by Chaintech, the vnf3-250, and have had no success. It's hard to remember all I've tried. All the hardware appears to work fine, but I removed one of the sticks of ram anyways just to try to get things working first. I don't have any other cards in it.
I've set the boot order to begin with cdrom and tried 20 windows installations probably with windows xp pro, which I've used/use on my machines. Almost always it is a Stop: error and usually it is 0x7e or 0x0A. I can't remember all the errors I've recieved but they're all BSOD after it tries to start windows. I have the drivers downloaded from the manufacturer on a fricken floppy disk(which is ridiculous) and this still doesn't help me. I've tried putting my Dvd-rw as secondary slave and disabling the other channel. I push F6 when prompted by windows setup to add 3rd party scsi or raid drivers. I've tried adding the raid and/or the nvidia storage drivers but bsod still haunts me. I'm about to return the motherboard.
One time we did get it as far as to fail beautifully instead of crashing. Unfortunately we haven't been able to reproduce this ahah of course
And this time, windows couldn't find any hard drives... Any help is appreciated thx gl
