Apparently available here. Anyone bold?

Regardless, this could mean that at least a couple of NF3-250 socket 754 A-64 boards will be available shortly. PCI/AGP lock (if it works) would be fun for playing with an A64 3000+. :D

Axion Price : $173.95

GOO!!! is that the normal retail? I know it has everything but the kitchen sink (Serial ATA Raid Gigabit Lan 7.1 Audio USB2.0 1394 Firewire) but the price seems a little high.

Chaintech doesn't seem to know they have this board. . . I'm guessing a typo. I thought nf3 250 was going to have 1000 MHz HT.

I wondered about a typo too. But ... they also have the Chaintech ZNF3-150 listed here. And it is a different price - $160.95.

Intriguing at the minimum. Might be worth an inquiry to Axion.

I read elsewhere that the DFI NF3-250 board will be unveiled this weekend. Add to that the pictures of the retail box for the Asus NF3-250 board that was posted on Hardocp a week or so back, and it looks like maybe NF3-250 is about to pop onto the retail scene. Wishful thinking? Maybe. The fact that nVidia's rumored March 1st NF3-250 announcement didn't happen (as far as I can tell) confuses the matter a bit, although the source of that rumor (Inq) isn't always 100% accurate.

Alas, April isn't far off and there's a ton of goodies coming out then (cross fingers) for both sides of the processor fence.

edit: I sent an email inquiring about the ZNF3-250. We'll see if they respond.

The CES 2004 pic of the Chaintech's ZNF3-250 shows 800FSB.

Consumer Electronics Show 2004 Day 1: Motherboards at CES - AnandTech

The importance of nForce3 250 will be its introduction of 1GHz HyperTransport. While 1GHz HT may not appear on Socket 754 boards in the near future, it will become important on Socket 939 motherboards.

I phoned Axion (281-575-0007) and Alan @ ext. 110 said it is not in stock, but is available for order now w/ a 3-5 day lead time.

Ya, we'll see how it performs, if it does well, and indeed has a PCI/AGP Lock, you can bet I'll be dropping my MSI K8T board for one of these
