Hello, this is my first attempt overclocking, and I couldn't get much overclock. I first tried just bumping the htt to 210 for my 3000+(1890mhz), and not adjusting anything else. It worked and seemed stable. I then decided to try 215htt, but I decided to adjust the hammer fid control(htt multi) to 4 so my htt bus was less than 1000(860). I also decided that I would use a divider on my memroy so it wasn't a limitation, at least at first. So I put my memory to 166xhtt(357mhz). It failed to boot. It seems like it should work. My temps are low, I shouldn't need more voltage at this low of an oc. My htt is less than 1000, 860, and my memory is less than 400mhz (357mhz). I've heard about pci locks, what are these? Do they exist in my bios for the vnf4ultra? I think someone said they are automatic once the htt is over 205. Any ideas? Please help. A 90mhz oc isn't a very good one.

Try bumping up your cpu vcore setting by .05. For examle, if the default reading is 1.5, try 1.55.

I would, except that's one of the oddities of the board. It has 2 vcore settings that work, 1.4, and 1.6+. 1.6 is a little high if you ask me. Vcore is currently 1.39, so it could need more juice, but I don't trust 1.6.

So I did everything right, but got the worst overclocking winchester ever, so just bad luck? I've never heard of a winchester that oc's only 90mhz.
