antec smart power 350 [non-at2.0]
new build. mount cpu/hsf, install ram, put in case, connect front bezel wires. when l hit the power button l get a long [terrifying] beep, and maybe a quick second one, AND THE FHSF SHUTS OFF!!! the northbridge chipset keeps running but l kill the power as soon as the ****** fan goes offso as not to blow up MY BRAND NEW CPU. excuse me for going over the top here but this has me totally freaked. l'm just praying to god that l didn't ****** something up when l put the goddamned ****** together. l can't afford to spring for new parts so soon.
potential issues-
-mobo needs 24-pin connector, psu only has 20-pin. connector is keyed so as to connect [hopefully] only one way, displaced to the right, leaving 4 empty connectors to the left. the 4 pin power connector does not appear keyed to go in the main power socket, so that is plugged into the dedicated 4-pin socket on the mobo.
-manual SUCKS ASS for connecting bezel wires. power switch pins are not identified for positive-negative connection.
if anybody has any info at all, please post soonest. l don't dare power the c-nt up again for fearing of blowing something up and l want to get this fixed this afternoon. thanks again and sorry for the swearing but this is making me completely insane.
