I tried to flash my bios on my vnf4 ultra, and every time I try it says something like invalid source, press f1 to continue. The floppy was formatted and new. I tried 2 different bios versions. Any ideas.

Are you using the onboard AWDFlash utility? If so, try a different program, maybe your AWDFlash is corrupt or something. Are you sure your floppy drive and/or disk is good? Good luck!

my guess is your floppy is not being recognized - I've had problems getting mine to show up on multiple mobos, I think the connectors are really finnicky about making good contact. Maybe try removing the drive, blowing it off, and then making sure you have it connected all the way. Then make a bootable floppy and ensure that it boots from it.

Like what else could I use?
I don't know for sure if my drive works. It's brand new and Samsung brand. It seemed like it wrote the disk ok. It is recognized by my computer.

There are loads of bios flashing utilities. I'm not totally familiar with all of them since I've only used what comes with it, but there's one on the chaintech website that I know of.

Well, I'm kinda unsure about flashing the bios now. If I have a problem then I could end up with dead board. It's working now, so I don't want to mess it up. I think the new bios has better memory settings.

Oh, I think I found my problem. I think I have to extract the files before I try to use them to flash with. I didn't think they were exactable because they don't have the zipper/folder icon that traditional zipped files have.
