could my problem be the mobo? i turned it on but after 1-2 seconds it turns right off.. the fans turn on for a second and off.. what couldbe the problem? the cpu is a 2800 newcastle a64 socket 754.. this is pissing me off.. i dont know what the problem is.. also i cant seem to take off the stock cooler. doe sanybody know how

Make sure the CPU fan is connected to the CPU fan header on the board. Some boards have protective feature that shuts off the system where if the BIOS does not detect fan speed on the CPU fan header.

Other than that, check for grounding issues. Try to test the board on a phone book or magazine with only the CPU, memory, and video card to see if you can get a post screen.

Well I had this same experience with this board. It was my first Newer Build tho..

I had Forgotten to Pluggin the CPU 12v thingy to the MB its a alil 4 pin Connector off of your PSU has 2 yellow and 2 black wires on it, fit onto theoard just near the CPU

it turned out the mobo was grounde.d. but now when it urn it on, with only cpu and psu plugged it, it gives me a beep every 3 seconds. what is this beep code? is my cpu bad?

Hehe, it's prolly a warning beep for no ram, or no vid card 😉

nope i tried with ram and video card also. i tried it with ram cpu video cpu video cpu ram. its all teh same beeping. the problem is diefintly in the mobo or the cpu

That sounds like the beep code for ram not inserted properly.

That's a good board though. Just used one in a build for someone else. Really liked it.

Install the cpu (with heatsink + fan of course), ram and gfx card. Hook up PSU, monitor, KB & mouse and see if it'll POST.

If it's still beeping take out the ram and make sure you've got it inserted all-the-way and the right way. Yeah, I know there's a notch in the dimm slot and everybody says you can't put it in wrong. But h3ll, I've done it myself and toasted a board 😱

Single, longer beeps are RAM errors. Short staccato bursts of beeps (4 or 8) are video card errors. Can mean faulty, incompatible, improperly seated, overclocked too much...
