It is well known that the more recent versions of the Chaintech VNF3-250 BIOS don't allow the user to select a HTT:RAM ratio of 1:1. The option simply isn't there. The only options present are 100, 133, and 166, which should give ratios of 2:1, 3:2, and 6:5. I am currently using the 7/29 BIOS, and these are the actual results I get from these 3 choices:
100 - 2:1
133 - 3:2
166 - 3:2
Setting the ratio to 166 gives me the exact same ratio I get when it is set at 133. I am using two sticks of Crucial PC2100 RAM, one with 512mb and one with 256. Have others experienced this problem with 166 setting in the BIOS, or is this somehow a result of the RAM I'm using?
