Hi guys...
I'm currently in the process of fixing up my system. I have a Chaintech VNF-250 motherboard and a Hitachi 7K250 160GB SATA HDD. In addition to that, I currently have a WD1200JB connected to the secondary IDE master.
I'm experiencing some problems with SATA and the keyboard.
1) Upon bootup, the SATA HDD isn't detected in the IDE detection list. Inside BIOS, I see no option to enable SATA as the primary boot drive(not in the boot order). The only settings pertaining to SATA are the SATA2 enable, which is enabled, and the SATA RAID, which is disabled. During WinXP installation though, the HDD is detected and formatted, with WinXP installed. However, now the 2 partitions of my WD1200JB IDE HDD are recognized as C: and D:, with my 2 optical drives recognized as E: and F:, and finally my Hitachi HDD, which is the boot drive, is recognized as G:
How can I fix it such that the SATA HDD is recognized as the boot drive, i.e. C:? It would be preferable if I didn't need to reformat/reinstall WinXP, but if that's the only choice it's fine too since this is a clean install and I don't have anything on it yet.
2) Upon bootup, I keep getting a "keyboard locked out" message. Pressing F1 would clear this message and allow me to bootup. This isn't a big problem but it's annoying nonetheless. How do I get rid of this? Again, I don't see any relevant settings within BIOS.
Thanks!
