I am buying a new receiver for 5.1 audio in my dorm room.

Right now I have an Audigy 2ZS in my HTPC; however, it doesn't offer Tos-Link Digital Out, only 3.5mm SPDIF.

My Dad has a Chaintech AV-710 in his HTPC which he almost never uses.

Is there a good deal on a good sound card that can get me Optical, or should I ask my Dad if I can buy his?

Will there be a noticable difference when watching BluRay if I use "only" DTS instead of DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD?

Thanks,
-Kevin

Optical and coaxial, the ht-omega striker would be good to pick up. It does dolby digital and dts live encoding for 5.1 in games.

yeah the striker and the claro (the one above it, looks to have support for higher bit rate) would both be awesome.
