Does anyone use a video card with the XGI Volari V3 chipset? I'm using the chaintech card that I got from new egg, and all of a sudden, windows is telling me that "the driver was written for a previous version of windows."
Thing is, I didn't upgrade my version of windows. I've been running Windows XP SP2 from the git-go, and so something is awry. I've tried the drivers that came with the CD, the drivers from the chaintech website, and I even tried the drivers from Windows update. None of them work.
OF course, tech support from chaintech is nonexistant. No phone support, and my attempts at email support have gone unheeded.
The lesson - don't try to save a few bucks by going with a generic card. Go with AMERICAN products with TELEPHONE SUPPORT.
Anyway, I'm out of options. I was hoping someone here has run into a similar problem or some expert on here might have some suggestions. In the meantime I using the default vga driver and man scrolling webpages is sooooo slow. So unless someone here can help me, I'm out the $50 I spent on this piece of junk and will have to go out and buy another card.
Thanks!
