I currently have a 40GB ATA100 hard drive, and since I'm constantly wrestling with low disk space issues I'm going to buy an additional 160GB ATA133 drive. Will using the new drive as a slave to my primary disk pose any issues, i.e. will the old ATA100 drive bottleneck the new ATA133 drive?

No, they will all run at their own speeds as long as they are UDMA/UATA drives.

Actually, ata133, 100, and 66 all run about the same real world speeds anyway.

Don't worry about the ATAspeed anyway, as LTC already pointed out, it's not really an issue at all.
