Doom 2 installed under Dos 5 still ran after going to Windows 1, 2, 3, 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista, and 7

Gotta give it to MS for keeping up with backward compatibility.

while nice, it doesn't take into account hardware changes and requirements of the different oses. What would have interesting would have been seeing him go from the original hardware used at the time of windows 1.0 to current hardware of today.

Reminds me of my triple-boot system, with Win98se, W2K SP4, and XP SP2. The Win98se partition started out with DOS 5, went to Win3.1 or 95, and then got 98se layered on top of it. I have stuff on there that installed from 5.25" floppy. Lord help me if I ever needed to re-install.
