Abit NF7
XP 2500 @ 2.2MHz (200 x 1.1)
1GB PC2700 DDR
Radeon 9600 Pro

I installed the Abit EQ program and when I click on it to see my temps, it beeps at me, kinda like a european police car siren would: WHEEE WHOOO WHEEE WHOOO WHEEE WHOOO. The CHA RPM is red at 960 while everything looks normal.

CPU: RPM 3.6K
CPU Core: 1.6V
CPU Temp: 40.5

CHA RPM: 960 (it's in red so I'm assuming it's not good)

I've looked on the Abit site and the manual for definitions on this, but can't find anything. Can somebody with knowledge help me figure this out? Thank you.

Don't know if this is the case with yours but my motherboard sensors generally can't accurately measure fan speed for anything under 1500 rpm or so. Mine's an Asus.

Where's your chasis fan plugged into? Well, I guess it would have to be the mobo, if the probe can see it. Do you have anything manually controlling the speed of the fan?

Plugged into the mobo and nothing controlling the fan. Not sure why it's screaming at me unless the fan is a dud.
