So I ended up with some DDR3 1333 that would fail at advertised speeds. In the meantime, I started looking at overclocking my quad and researched alot of memory in reviews. I ended up deciding on a 2Gb kit W1600ux2G7 (1600, 2Gb, 7cas) Highly overclockable, tight timings, and later on learned Super Talent is manufactured in the States, Good Ole Silicon Valley. I have them, bought them and they are here. Problem is I started thinking about a 4Gb kit for down the road and I found a great deal. 50$ less than anywhere else for the same memory but in a 4Gb configuration. I made the purchase, a week later the sales dept calls me and says its not in stock and would be here Friday the 23rd. I ask if when they get it in if they would ... ok, im not trying to bash Cesell, The difference between the memory is the tRAS speeds 18 vs 21 and and voltage 1.9 vs 1.8 respectively. Would you recommend a 4Gb gaming machine or 2Gb gaming machine?

4GB, personally I would go for 32x4GB = 128GB if you can...

But seriously, ignoring everything else, yeah I would like 4 GB by far (especially in Vista)

Well, even with a 32-bit OS, 4GB is preferred for gaming systems. Here's why. A 32-bit app can use up to 2GB of system RAM. If you have 4GB of RAM, 3.0-3.25 GB of it is usable. Windows XP will use ~½GB of that, leaving you with enough left over to not have to shut down everything you had running before you launched the game, while still having the 2GB for the game to use. If you only started with 2GB, then you'd have ~1½GB left for the game, but only if you completely shut down all other apps you had open to begin with. Of course, with a 64-bit OS, especially Vista, there's no comparison whatsoever, 4GB is a must.

Ok, so Cesell isn't ordering the memory from the manufacturer, which means, besides i'm not important, that i won't get the memory for probably for another month. My RMA on the 2gb kit runs out on June 2nd, plus the place where i ordered it is out of stock, which also means if i changed my mind after I sent them back, i'd have to wait even more.

1T timing is, by me, noticeably faster than 2T and from what I understand and inform me if I am wrong, you can only run 1T with 1-pair of memory sticks. Is that right? If so, that may make me wait. If not, I'll run 1T with the 2Gb kit. Can anyone verify the 1T myth?
