Certificate of Deposit question

Can you add funds while it is maturing? Or is it once you add whatever you want it stops there and you just kinda sit on it like a bond?

What is the difference between a bond and a CD?

You can most definitely add money to a CD...dunno about a bond. I think CDs probably have higher interest rates.

As low as interest rates are right now though, CDs don't make much sense.

I just think it's a lot easier for me since I believe they have certain CDs with penalties if I do have to dig into it etc etc. Like a regular savings account is so easily accessible by going to my bank, filling out a paper saying I want to widthdraw, and bam I have $. With a CD I can't just walk into the bank without having to take at least half an hour to an hour of waiting time to take money out, right?
