certain websites won't work

hey for some reasons i cant go to certain websites like facebook.com download.com newzbin.com

but i can go to others like cnn.com espn.com

i can go to google.com but it wont search

i can go to gmail.com, enter login information and then wont go to inbox

luckily i could come here

when i say i cant go to the site, it jus hangs, i tried both ie and firefox

safemode everything works fine

i ran my mcafee virus scanner and found nothing, and im scanning with adaware now

i am using windows vista business sp1

any suggestions?
