In addition to my Barton that's in storage, my AS3 is also in storage.

So, I need to buy some more thermal compound.

So I go looking for the cheapest price on AS3 and stumble across this Ceramique stuff, which is Arctic Silver's latest stuff.

I read a ton of review on it (Arctic Silver's Ceramique review links page) and they were all positive.

I.E. the new Ceramique is better than AS3. :Q This is shocking to me. It's like finding out some new God is better than your old God! ;)

Anyone have any experiences with this stuff? I'll be ordering a tube of "something" along w/my new Barton.

Yup, Arctic Silver Ceramique is better than AS3. However depends on how long you can wait, I would wait for AS5, yup that's right Arctic Silver 5, I know we'll have it ont he 22nd of October. Seems to work better than AS3 & Ceramique.

AS-Ceramique, also has an easier method of install. It basically spreads itself. Check the full instructions @ www.arcticsilver.com

What happened to AS4??? Is AS5 gonna be that much better that they had to skip a whole model number???!

I have never used Arctic Silver 1,2 or 3. I have used Arctic Alumina. Ceramique is giving me a 3-4 degree Fahrenheit drop over Alumina. Ceramique and Alumina are both non-conductors.

What irks me a little is that Arctic Silver did not post things like the "Thermal Conductivity" and Thermal Resistance" for Ceramique like they did for Arctic Silver 3 and Alumina.

Ceramique is stubborn to get buffed into the surface of the heatsink. Beware, the baggy over the finger will probably wind up with a hole in it and your finger doing the buffing.

No one has started a flame war claiming all the reviews are bogus so that is a good sign.

I bought the 22g tube just because the syringe is bigger and easier for me with my great big hands to manipulate. I also got a much better deal per gram that way. At the rate I install heatsinks I should run out in about 3000 years.:D:beer:

I find Ceramique to be better than AS3, although the prototype I tried of the new Artic Silver is just about as good.

Thanks much, guys. I must seriously be out of the loop or something; I'd never even heard of Ceramique, let alone AS5 until very recently.

Heh, I'm curious too; what happened to AS4?

Well, being that I'm ordering my Barton next week, I'll be ordering a tube of Ceramique. Thanks again.

One thing someone forgot to mention is that Ceramique like Shin-Etsu MicroSil G751 is a thick paste so for large cores like the Pentium 4's heatspreader, taking out the heatsink will also pull the CPU out of the socket risking bending/breaking some pins. I'm using Nanotherm PCM+ which seems to do a better job than AS3, Ceramique and Shin-Etsu.
