CEO dead, CFO asking for donation to pay mortgage (A Joke)

update: He said this is a joke. Have fun guys.

A friend said the company CEO just died and CFO sent email to all employees asking for donation for CEO's widow. Because he just bought a $23,000,000 house and paid 40% down. The poor widow cannot pay the mortgage in the future. So the CFO calculated and it turned out that if every employee donates several thousands dollars, the house can be paid off. So...donate or get laid off?

Something tells me that the CEO's wife will be downsizing her house sometime soon...

Even if the house got paid off, the property taxes on a $20,000,000 house would be enough to eat up her savings pretty quickly.

i would reply with something along the lines of "are you out of your mind?" or send them $.02

fuck them.

Wow. So they expect people to donate so some widow can continue to stay in her 23 million dollar home? I don't even know how to respond to that rediculousness.

Or better yet. foreword the email to EVERY news outlet. that's just fucking insane to even ask people to give them money for such a expensive house.

I would reply "Haha, good one sir. You had us all going for a minute there."

I'd say this is fake or some kind of practical joke. If it is real, let the media have fun with it.

exactly. more i think on it the more i think it should be foreworded to EVERY media outlet.

IF real anyway. i suspect that it is not. I find it hard to beleive that someoen would be so out of touch that they would expect workers to pay for the widows $23 million house.

Also a house costing $23 million?

A joke? No way. Smells like he got similar feedback as was given here and now is trying to save face. Who makes a joke about this kind of thing when someone has died? Unless your CFO is guilty of having extremely poor taste.

...no one actually died.
