Centrino notebook with 64MB video

I'm looking for a Pentium M centrino notebook with a 64MB video card, but so far I haven't had any luck (besides the T40p). Can anyone tell me any others that they know? I looked at Dell and Gateway, but neither gives you the option to upgrade the video card before you purchase. Thanks

dell has them. go to small business, and latitude d series. the d800 with cenrino and g4 4200 64mb

The only problem with Dell is that it doesn't come with a 5400RPM hdd, or at least it doesn't give the speed so I would assume they're 4200RPM drives.

So basically the requirements are:

Pentium M 1.6
64MB Video
5400 RPM HDD

🙂

Look at the Gateway 450 towards the end of the month. I heard they are putting the ATI 9000 in there soon.

I might just wait for that then. I was talking to one of Gateway's online support people, but he said he didn't have a timeline of when the 64MB 9000 would be in the 450 series. Where did you hear this?

Dont worry about that 😉

I'm pretty sure you can get a 5400 rpm drive. I got one with my Inspiron, and unless you pick one of the cheap hard drives, it should be 5400. Look for this drive: 40GB,HD,9.5MM,5400RPM [add $79 or $3/month1] when you spec it out.

Yeah, I saw that option with the D600, but not the 600m that I was looking at. Also, I'm not able to find the D600 except for in the Dell Small Business section, and since I don't own a small business I was wondering if there would be a problem buying it.

It's so much easier just to build computers yourself cause you just order the exact parts you want... I wish it was an option with a notebook. 🙂

Shouldn't be a problem buying it. I did it for my Inspiron. Plus the bonus is that most of the time, the coupons floating around on the 'net are for Small Business anyways and can lower your total cost significantly.

I know what you mean about buying parts. Makes it soooooo much easier. If it wasn't for the portability of this notebook, I'd much rather have a desktop.

Dell's 40GB drive is a 5400RPM drive. They just don't mention it unless you click on the More Details or Whats this link when you're ordering. Sorry can't recall the exact name of the link.

Unfortunetly, their 5400RPM drive they use runs really, hot, so I ended up replacing it with my 40GNX hat I had already bought for my old laptop
