centrino laptop and DX9 graphics cards

Hello. I am hoping someone can clear up and explain this issue for me. I have been inquiring with a number of different pc makers.. Voodoo, hypersonic, velocity micro etc.. They all have said that the ATI 9600 and the NVidia 5600 Go video cards will be available in their laptops by the end of June. Unfortunately, they tell me that their centrino notebooks will not be able to use the new DX9 cards for quite some time. Can someone explain the reasons for this and when these chips might be available for the centrino notebooks. Thanks in advance for any and all help on this topic.

Centrino = small, light, low power etc.

DX9 graphics cards, even thought in mobiles, will use up quite a bit of power and produce heat, so they probably don't want them sucking the batteries resources and stuff.
